Abstract
⺠It has been proposed that lifespan of the youngest cohorts could reach 105 years. ⺠The implications of these forecasts for maximal lifespan have not been considered. ⺠These consequences make these forecasts untenable. ⺠Median and maximal lifespans should reach an asymptotic limit in some decades from now.
