⺠Polyphenols act non-specifically as antioxidants. ⺠Some polyphenols have anti-acetycholine/butyrylcholinesterase activity. ⺠Polyphenols protect neurons against NMDA neurotoxicity. ⺠Polyphenols affect amyloidogenic pathway. ⺠There are potential barricades in translating polyphenol research into routine clinical application.
