Abstract
► The 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) level was increased in MDS patients. ► This oxidative DNA damage was suppressed by the oral iron chelator deferasirox. ► Deferasirox therapy may improve oxidative DNA damage and development of MDS.
