Abstract
⺠The role of Nox4 for renal pathology was studied using knockout mice. ⺠Nox4 knockout did not impair but rather increased diabetes I-induced albuminuria. ⺠Nox4 knockout did not attenuate but rather enhanced fibrosis after ureter ligation. ⺠Progression of renal failure was Nox4 independent in the remnant kidney model.
