Abstract
⺠We studied RNA oxidation catalyzed by either Fe(II)/ascorbate/H2O2 or cyt c/H2O2. ⺠We found that multiple oxidation markers are essential to assess RNA oxidation. ⺠RNA forms cross-linked complexes with cyt c during cyt c-catalyzed oxidation. ⺠Cyt c release from cardiolipin-containing liposomes is facilitated by RNA-cyt c cross-linking.
