Interaction between Saccharomyces cerevisiae glutaredoxin 5 and SPT10 and their in vivo functions

► Yeast glutaredoxin 5 interacts with SPT10 via an intermolecular disulfide linkage. ► We investigated the features and growth phenotypes of three null mutant strains (Grx5Δ, SPT10Δ, and Grx5ΔSPT10Δ). ► The common feature of the mutants was a growth defect in nonfermentable carbon-based media. ► The protein complex may involve the induction of HSP26 during stationary-phase growth.
