Abstract
⺠Ankaflavin (AK) is a yellow pigment derived from Monascus-fermented metabolites. ⺠AK ameliorates airway inflammation and mucus cell hyperplasia in lungs of mice. ⺠Inhibitory effect of AK on lung injury is abolished by siRNA for Nrf-2. ⺠AK elevates Nrf-2 translocation in vitro and in vivo.
