Abstract
⺠We determined the impact of SOD1 or GPX1 absence on mouse glucose and lipid metabolism. ⺠Absence of SOD1 enhanced glycolysis, but decreased gluconeogenesis in liver. ⺠Absence of SOD1 upregulated the hepatic lipid profile and lipogenesis signaling. ⺠Absence of SOD1 altered the function of five hepatic protein kinases/phosphatases. ⺠Absence of GPX1 exerted little effect on liver glucose and lipid status or regulation.
