Abstract
⺠sCD36, sCD40L, urinary 11-dehydro-TxB2 and 8-iso-PGF2α were significantly lower in aspirin-treated diabetics than untreated patients. ⺠sCD36 levels were correlated with metabolic control and aspirin duration in patients not on aspirin. ⺠Plasma sCD36 levels were significantly correlated with the urinary excretion rate of 11-dehydro-TxB2 and 8-iso-PGF2α. ⺠sCD36, platelet activation, inflammation, and oxidative stress are increased in type 2 diabetes.
