Abstract
⺠Mice over-expressing kidney androgen-regulated protein (KAP) in kidney are hypertensive. ⺠Blockade or increased removal of superoxide production reduces this hypertension. ⺠Blockade of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) reverts this hypertension. ⺠Blockade of the β-adrenergic system also decreases arterial pressure. ⺠Hypertension of KAP Tg mice is based on increased brain oxidative stress and RAS.
