Abstract
⺠Activated factor X (FXa) was found to upregulate protease-activated receptor PAR-2 in human vascular smooth muscle cells. ⺠PAR-2 regulation involves signaling via NADPH oxidase, nuclear factor kB and the mRNA stabilising protein human antigen R. ⺠Augmented PAR-2 expression and mitogenic signaling could potentially contribute to vascular remodeling after injury.
