Abstract
⺠Mitochondrial dysfunction impairs lymphocyte homeostasis in occult HCV infection. ⺠Oxidative stress exerts PI3 kinase mediated nuclear DNA damage response. ⺠Occult hepatitis C infection triggers premature apoptosis of lymphocytes. ⺠We explain the immune pathogenesis of HCV infection in a redox dependent manner.
