Abstract

The paper investigates the route choice flows by considering the characteristics of the individual travel's behaviors. Based on the adaptive rule, the evolution of the route choice with variable OD demands is discussed. The results show that the flows of each route are convergent for both fixed and variable OD demands. For the fixed mean of the OD demands, with the increase of the variance, the convergent speed becomes slower. Moreover, for the fixed variance, increasing the mean can not affect the convergent speed, but it may lead to more serious fluctuations of the route flow. In addition, by considering three traffic modes, the paper presents a new route choice evolving model. The results show that the stability and autonomy of travel by car are higher than those of travel by bus.
