Abstract
This paper analyzes taxi operation characteristics through a taxi questionnaire survey both in the Olympic Game period and pre-Olympic Game period of Beijing. It also makes the data comparison between the two periods. The major findings indicate that the taxi operating rate reached 92.26% during the Olympic period, and the average daily passenger volume increased by 19.2% compared with the pre-Olympic period. Moreover, the vacancy rate of the taxi has decreased from 46.05% to 37.06%. There are 76.31% of the surveyed people who returned the questionnaires agreed the taxi speed has increased obviously. However, only 28.85% of the people approved the waiting time were shortened evidently, and the taxi service level should be further improved.
