Abstract
⺠Exposure to low doses of cylindrospermopsin, a cyanotoxin, impaired lung function. ⺠Deterioration of lung mechanics was preceded by lung inflammation and oxidative stress. ⺠Along 96 h after exposure the concentration of cylindrospermopsin increased in the liver and decreased in the lung. ⺠For the first time such a comprehensive study on pulmonary consequences of the exposure to cylindrospermopsin is reported.
