Abstract
⺠Micrurus lemniscatus venom has a powerful and long-lasting antinociceptive effect. ⺠Oral administration of M. lemniscatus venom did not affect the mice motor performance. ⺠The antinociceptive effect of M. lemniscatus venom is mediated by the opioid system.
