Abstract
⺠This study characterized the inflammation induced by Scorpaena plumieri venom (SpV). ⺠Leukocytes recruitment and TNF, IL-6, MCP-1 secretion were found after SpV injection. ⺠A previous administration of Aprotinin or Icatibant reduced the local edema observed. ⺠The edematogenic activity was attributed to kallikrein-kinin system. ⺠These data could contribute to the treatment of human accidents involving this fish.
