Abstract
⺠Lonomia obliqua venom induces in vivoendothelial activation increasing l-selectin and VCAM-1 expression. âºÂ L. obliqua venom affects actin cytoskeleton dynamics in endothelial cells. ⺠The venom induces NF-kB activation and increase COX-2, iNOS, HO-1 expression in endothelial cells. ⺠The venom induces a pro-inflammatory profile increasing endothelial MMP-2 and MMP-9 secretion. ⺠The inflammatory effect on vascular endothelium can contribute for local and systemic effects.
