Abstract
⺠Microbial expression systems used to produce recombinant conotoxin TxVIA. ⺠Expression in yeast Pichia pastoris required construct incorporating pro-peptide. ⺠Biologically active protein produced, with partial cleavage of pro-peptide. ⺠Resulting protein shows toxicity to insects, but not towards slugs, on injection.
