Abstract
► Baltergin metalloproteinase exerted a toxic effect on C2C12 myoblast cells. ► The most abundant PLA2 did not exhibit cytotoxicity at times and doses tested. ► Baltergin and BaSpIIRP4 PLA2 act synergistically on myotoxicity. ► Neutralization of the venom with specific antibodies confirmed the synergism.
