Abstract
⺠A phospholipase enzyme was isolated from venom of the snake Bothrops ammodytoides. ⺠The enzyme contains 122 amino acids residues, stabilized by 7 disulfide bridges. ⺠Its isoelectric point is 6.13, posses an aspartic acid residue on the active site. ⺠Only with high doses can be seen pulmonary edema and intraperitoneal bleeding. ⺠Locally the enzyme causes slight edema and muscular lesions.
