Abstract
⺠We clone a new gene of C-type lectin protein, alboaggregin D, from green pit viper. ⺠Its α and β subunits contain cysteines to form a large multimer of a heterodimer. ⺠The protein directly aggregates platelet through platelet glycoprotein Ib and VI. ⺠Alboaggregin D, like collagen, stimulates platelet tyrosine phosphorylation. ⺠The protein may be helpful in dissecting the mechanism of platelet activation.
