Abstract
► We clone a new gene of C-type lectin protein, alboaggregin D, from green pit viper. ► Its α and β subunits contain cysteines to form a large multimer of a heterodimer. ► The protein directly aggregates platelet through platelet glycoprotein Ib and VI. ► Alboaggregin D, like collagen, stimulates platelet tyrosine phosphorylation. ► The protein may be helpful in dissecting the mechanism of platelet activation.
