Abstract
⺠C. elegans SIRT4 orthologs function during oxidative stress in mitochondria. ⺠Conserved interaction of SIRT4 with mitochondrial biotinâdependent carboxylases. ⺠All three carboxylases are acetylated on multiple lysine residues. ⺠Acetylation of K748 changed the enzymatic activity of pyruvate carboxylase (PC). ⺠No deacetylation or regulation of PC by SIRT4 in liver and HEK293 cells was found.
