Abstract
⺠Feline bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can be harvested and expanded in vitro. ⺠The markers of MSCs were similar to those reported for human MSCs. ⺠Feline MSCs can differentiate into functional neurons as determined electrophysiologically. ⺠The neurons express GABA receptors. ⺠Feline MSCs appear to show similar properties as human bone marrow-derived MSCs.
