Abstract
PPARγ's role on 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 transcriptional activity is examined. ⺠PPARγ physically binds to VDR and inhibits 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 action. ⺠PPARγ's hinge and ligand binding domains are important for this inhibitory effect. ⺠PPARγ competes with VDR for the availability of their binding partner, RXRα.
