Abstract
⺠Mitochondrial AAA+protein ClpX is a novel regulator of mtDNA. ⺠Knockdown of ClpX shows enlarged and unequal distribution of mtDNA nucleoids. ⺠ClpX is closely associated with TFAM physically and functionally. ⺠ClpX regulates mtDNA nucleoid distribution through TFAM function possibly as a chaperone.
