Abstract
⺠RNF8 and BRCA1 are associated with the nucleolus of undamaged cells. ⺠Upon γ-radiation, RNF8 and BRCA1 are translocated from the nucleolus to damage foci. ⺠The ribosomal protein RPSA anchors RNF8 to the nucleolus. ⺠RNF8 may play previously unsuspected roles in protein synthesis.
