Abstract
SN-38 cytotoxicity is S-phase dependent. Vaccinia virus results in an accumulation of both infected and uninfected cells in S-phase phase. The virus-mediated increase in S-phase among cells that are either uninfected or in the early stages of viral infection, leads to increased SN-38-induced apoptosis and synergistic tumour killing.219
