Abstract
⺠Tumors exploit blood and lymphatic vessels to promote their growth and metastasis. ⺠Targeting blood and lymphatic vasculature provides a rationale for cancer treatment. ⺠Most of our knowledge of the mechanisms of tumor angiogenesis is based on mouse models. ⺠The benefit of the thus far implemented anti-angiogenic treatments has been limited. ⺠The development of improved treatment requires better pre-clinical cancer models.
