Abstract
► We examined the effect of radiation on metronidazole genotoxicity. ► Metronidazole induced genotoxicity in a dose dependent manner. ► Pre-exposure to radiation did not significantly alter metronidazole genotoxicity. ► Post exposure to radiation apparently enhanced metronidazole genotoxicity. ► Vitamin C reduced genotoxicity of metronidazole/metronidazole and radiation.
