Abstract
⺠Ionizing radiation has DNA as a direct target and gives rise to single and double strand breaks. ⺠We carried out (comet assay, chromosomal aberrations assay and cytokinesis block micronuclei assay) to study the antigenotoxic and radioprotective effect of apigenin at different genetic and cytogenetic end points. ⺠Pretreatment of apigenin was effective against 3 Gy gamma rays induced DNA damage in human peripheral blood lymphocytes.
