Abstract
► We examined the role of the type I interferon receptor in the innate immune response to Listeria infection. ► Type I interferon signaling negatively regulates CXC chemokine expression induced by Listeria. ► Recruitment of neutrophils is inhibited by type I interferon signaling upon Lm infection. ► Blocking CXCR2 hampered neutrophil recruitment and bacterial clearance in IFNAR−/− mice.
