Abstract
												ASCs remain viable in alginates; they transiently change phenotype in alginate hydrogel but regain the phenotype of monolayer controls upon release. Cells maintain their paracrine potential while in alginates; the combination of ASCs and alginate is non-immunogenic and, in fact, immunosuppressive.
