Abstract
⺠The ommatidial rotation process has been characterized in vivo. ⺠nmo is required in cone cells for correct ommatidial rotation. ⺠nmo regulates the expression of genes encoding adhesion and signaling molecules. ⺠Transcriptional repression of miple by Nmo is required during ommatidial rotation. ⺠miple interacts with ptp99A and the E-cadherin-β-catenin complex.
