Abstract
► Two functional domains of LON-2/glypican independently inhibit BMP signaling. ► The N-terminal protease product of LON-2 is sufficient for LON-2 activity. ► LON-2 does not require protease cleavage and heparan sulfation sites for activity. ► The LON-2 C-terminus with GPI and heparan sulfation sites inhibits BMP signaling. ► LON-2's RGD site or membrane linkage is required for LON-2 activity.
