Abstract
⺠Irf6 mutants show evagination of incisor tooth epithelium, rather than invagination. ⺠Evagination in Irf6 mutants phenocopies those seen in Ikkα mutants. ⺠No genetic interaction between Irf6 and Ikka in epithelial invagination. ⺠The Wnt pathway is normally suppressed by Ikkα/Irf6 in epithelial invagination. ⺠Ikkα/Irf6 regulates epithelial invagination via NF-κB-independent pathway.
