Abstract
âºMyod is a transcription factor that controls skeletal myogenesis. âºMyod is essential for most cranial myogenesis and viability in zebrafish. âºLack of cranial muscle leads to cartilage and bone maturation defects in the head. âºMyod and Myf5 cooperate to drive all embryonic and larval myogenesis.
