Abstract
⺠Peraiaxin, a PDZ domain protein exhibits lens specific expression within the eye. ⺠Periaxin exhibits maturation dependent redistribution in lens fibers. ⺠Periaxin exists in a macromolecular complex and regulates membrane organization. ⺠Periaxin null lenses reveal disruptions in fiber cell shape and membrane stability. ⺠Periaxin plays a key role in membrane stability of lens fiber cells.
