►Rfx6 is initially expressed broadly in the anterior endoderm. ►Rfx6 is progressively restricted to endocrine cells of the gut and pancreas. ►Early expression of Rfx6 is essential to develop most anterior endodermal organs. ►Mutations found in Mitchell-Riley patients produce non-functional Rfx6.
