Abstract
►Stress and aging induce dramatic nuclear blebbing in Caenorhabditis oocytes. ►Increased nuclear blebbing is coordinated with RNP granule assembly in oocytes. ►Annulate lamellae form in response to stress and extended meiotic arrest. ►A subset of nucleoporins is required for RNP granule assembly. ►Nuclear membrane blebbing may facilitate the recruitment of RNA and protein into RNP complexes.
