Abstract
⺠We focused on regulation of lipolysis in appressorial cells in Colletotrichum orbiculare. ⺠Fatty acid β-oxidation is critical for appressorial melanization and lipolysis. ⺠Blocking of an initial step in melanin synthesis impaired lipolysis. ⺠Blocking of the downstream steps in melanin synthesis had no effects on lipolysis. ⺠The results indicate that primary and secondary metabolism regulates lipolysis.
