Abstract
⺠We identified genes up-regulated during vegetative incompatibility in A. areolatum. ⺠The up-regulated genes were associated with various cellular processes. ⺠The processes included cell-cell adhesion, cell defence and programmed cell death. ⺠We provide a model for the pathways underlying vegetative incompatibility.
