Abstract
► We studied the effects of a soluble epoxide hydrolase inhibitor in heart failure rats. ► The inhibitor induced an increase in epoxyeicosatrienoic acid bioavailability. ► This was associated with an improvement in systolic and diastolic cardiac function. ► Enhanced cardiac perfusion and reduced oxidative stress contributed to this effect. ► This pharmacological strategy represents a promising approach to treat heart failure.
