Abstract
⺠We studied the effects of a soluble epoxide hydrolase inhibitor in heart failure rats. ⺠The inhibitor induced an increase in epoxyeicosatrienoic acid bioavailability. ⺠This was associated with an improvement in systolic and diastolic cardiac function. ⺠Enhanced cardiac perfusion and reduced oxidative stress contributed to this effect. ⺠This pharmacological strategy represents a promising approach to treat heart failure.
