Abstract
⺠In this study, we cultured circulating angiogenic cells on a collagen matrix. ⺠Culture on matrix was compared with the more traditional fibronectin culture method. ⺠Differentiation of CD31+CD144+ and CD133+CD34+ cells was enhanced on matrix. ⺠Functional superiority of these cells was associated with ERK and Akt pathways. ⺠Matrix-raised cells induced angiogenic cytokines and restored hindlimb perfusion.
