Abstract
⺠Inhibition of LTC4 action via MRP1 reduced oxidative stress and apoptosis in vitro. ⺠MRP1-/--mice displayed better cardiac function after cardiac injury. ⺠Serum LTC4 concentration were reduced in MRP1-/--mice after cardiac injury. ⺠After cardiac injury cellular apoptosis was reduced in myocardium of MRP1-/--mice. ⺠Inhibition of LTC4 action provided beneficial cardiac effects in WT-mice. ⺠MRP1- and Cys-LT1-receptor-blockade may provide targets in ischemic heart disease.
