Abstract
⺠SLC26A4 mRNA expression was evaluated in NaI-treated rats and PCCl3 cells. ⺠NaI treatment was carried out for 30 min up to 48 h. ⺠NaI treatment increased SLC26A4 mRNA content in both experimental models. ⺠Actinomycin D blocked this effect in PCCl3 cells. ⺠Iodide rapidly upregulates SLC26A4 mRNA expression by transcriptional mechanisms.
