Abstract
⺠BMPs elicit differential actions in PRL and ACTH regulation. ⺠BMPs modulate SSTR sensitivity of lactosomatotrope cells in an autocrine/paracrine manner. ⺠SSTR action increases BMP receptor signal in corticotrope cells. ⺠The interaction of BMPR and SSTR actions is crucial for the tolerance to somatostatin analogs. ⺠Control of SSTR sensitivity may be a future strategy for aggressive pituitary tumors.
