Abstract
► Serotonin syndrome (SS) is an increasing biomedical concern. ► The potential of zebrafish models to study SS-related phenotypes is discussed here. ► Zebrafish SS-related phenotypes parallel clinical and rodent SS models. ► Exposure to serotonergic agents evoke a marked surfacing behavior in zebrafish. ► Zebrafish SS-like behavior correlates with brain concentrations of serotonin.
