Abstract
⺠Thiamine deficiency (TD) models several aspects of neurodegenerative diseases (NDD). ⺠Impaired oxidative metabolism affects TD and many NDD. ⺠Oxidative stress contributes to the pathophysiology of TD in a multifactorial fashion. ⺠A variety of cellular processes are affected by oxidative stress. ⺠Understanding oxidative stress in TD may result in new treatments for NDD.
