Abstract
► Neonicotinoids mimic acetylcholine action on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. ► Formamidines mimic octopamine action by acting on octopamine receptors. ► Both neonicotinoids and formamidines cause olfactory dysfunction in honeybees. ► Disruption in neuronal biogenic amines mediated signaling generates ROS formation. ► Excess ROS formation impairs olfactory function in honeybees, which may cause CCD.
